Kragga Kamma Game Park, Protected wildlife area in Port Elizabeth, South Africa
Kragga Kamma is a wildlife reserve on the coast near Port Elizabeth where coastal forest and grasslands provide habitat for diverse animals. White rhinos, buffalo, cheetahs, giraffes, zebras, and several antelope species roam across the 203 hectares.
The park was established in 2001 when private land was converted into a conservation area within the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality. It has since become an important refuge for wildlife in the region.
The park serves as a teaching space where visitors observe how different species coexist in their natural setting. Local guides share knowledge about the animals and their roles in maintaining the landscape during tours.
You can drive yourself on maintained roads or join a guided tour in an open vehicle to see the animals. The park opens daily at 8:00 AM and closes at 5:00 PM, giving you a full day to explore.
A dedicated area allows visitors to interact with cheetahs under supervision and photograph these fast hunters up close. This chance to spend time near the cats without barriers is a rare experience that sets the park apart.
