Mokolo Dam Nature Reserve is a protected area spanning about 4600 hectares, defined by sandstone mountains and cliffs with an 8-kilometer waterfront along the Mokolo River dam. The water body cuts through the landscape and serves as a crucial gathering point for diverse wildlife.
The area was established in 1980 and was originally named Hans Strijdom Nature Reserve. It forms part of a larger network of connected protected areas in Limpopo Province.
