Dikhololo Game Reserve, Game reserve in North West, South Africa.
Dikhololo Game Reserve is a protected wildlife area in North West with rolling hills and open plains that provide natural habitats for giraffes, zebras, antelope species, and many bird types. The landscape supports free-roaming animals across its diverse terrain.
The land was originally a cattle farm starting in 1922 before being converted into a wildlife reserve and resort in 1983. This transformation marked the beginning of its current role as a nature protection area.
The name comes from a local language and refers to the klippspringer, a small antelope that once roamed the rocky areas here.
Arriving early offers the best chances to see animals during their most active times, especially during the cooler parts of the day. Most visitors find good viewing spots in the higher areas of the reserve, where wildlife is easier to spot from a distance.
Visitors can join guided quad biking tours along marked trails while watching free-roaming wildlife in their natural setting. This experience blends outdoor adventure with animal observation in an unusual way.
