Ditsong National Museum of Cultural History

The museum exhibits various archaeological materials, historical documents, artworks, and Stone Age artifacts within the former South African Mint building.

Founded in 1895 by the South African Republic, the institution merged with the Transvaal Museum and Military History Museum in 1999 to form the Northern Flagship Institution.

The museum displays Iron Age figurines from Schroda in Limpopo Province and rock art collections demonstrating early ritual practices in South Africa.

The museum opens daily from 7:30 to 16:00, providing free parking facilities and reduced admission rates for students and educational groups.

The Marabastad exhibition documents the integration of different communities during the pre-apartheid period through photographs and personal artifacts.
