Capricorn District Municipality

Capricorn District Municipality is an administrative region in Limpopo encompassing towns like Alldays, Dendron, Morebeng, and Senwabarwana spread across a large area. The region combines urban centers with rural settlements connected by local roads and natural terrain.

The district was established as a new administrative unit in 2000, creating a unified governance structure for the northern Limpopo region. This reorganization combined several previous local authorities under a single municipal framework.

Northern Sotho shapes daily life across the region and is heard in markets, schools, and community spaces. This shared language creates a strong sense of connection among the local communities.

The N1 highway runs through the region and connects it to Gauteng province, making travel between areas straightforward. An airport in Polokwane offers additional travel options for those needing faster connections.

The region's name comes from the Tropic of Capricorn, a geographical line crossing through it at roughly 23 degrees south latitude. This line marks an important climate boundary on the planet.
