Barotziland-North-Western Rhodesia, Colony of the United Kingdom
Barotziland-North-Western Rhodesia was a British protectorate in present-day Zambia. The territory existed between 1899 and 1911, before merging with the North-Eastern Rhodesia protectorate.
The British South Africa Company administered the territory from 1899 after a treaty with Barotse king Lewanika. Administrative structures were consolidated in 1911 and the protectorate became part of Northern Rhodesia.
