Lawson Apartments, Art Deco residential building in Perth, Australia
The Lawson Apartments rise eleven stories high at Sherwood Court, incorporating Spanish Mission ornamentation with twin towers arranged in an H-shaped configuration.
The Colonial Mutual Life Assurance Society constructed this residential complex in 1937, which served as the State Cabinet headquarters during World War II.
The building combines elements of private residential spaces with the Karrakatta Club and Balthazar restaurant, creating a mixed-use environment in central Perth.
Four apartments occupy each floor from levels three through ten, while the lower levels contain commercial spaces and a restaurant.
The structure features two symmetrical palazzi-form towers that stand as an architectural counterpart to the neighboring Colonial Mutual Life building.
