Museum Fatahillah occupies a three-story Neoclassical building with earth-colored walls, dark green wooden doors, and a weather vane on the main roof.
Built between 1707 and 1710 as Batavia's City Hall under Governor-General Joan van Hoorn, the structure served as an administrative center for over two centuries.
The museum contains collections from Tarumanegara and Pajajaran periods, displaying historical maps, traditional furniture, ceramics, and numismatic objects across 1,300 square meters.
Located at Jalan Taman Fatahillah No. 1, the museum offers a library with 1,200 colonial-era books, a Betawi cuisine canteen, and documentary screenings at Cinema Fatahillah.
The building's underground cells once functioned as the main prison during Dutch East India Company rule, where many inmates perished due to poor conditions.
