Kidzania Jakarta, Educational theme park in Pacific Place Mall, Jakarta, Indonesia
KidZania Jakarta is an indoor replica city for children aged 2 to 16, covering 7,500 square metres on the sixth floor of Pacific Place mall. It has roads, buildings, shops and vehicles moving around the city, and its role-play stations are called pavilions; by 2013 there were 71, from a dentist's chair to an operating room, police office, TV studio and tax office.
KidZania Jakarta opened in November 2007, operated by PT Aryan Indonesia, a company owned by Roestriana Adrianti and Mohammad Riza Chalid, with an investment of 10 million US dollars. It was the first KidZania franchise in Southeast Asia and the second outside Mexico after Japan. In 2008 the owners' son, Muhammad Kerry Adrianto, became City Mayor and helped open the Nippon Paint and Garuda Indonesia pavilions.
Children take on different job roles and learn about money management through a park currency called KidZos. These hands-on experiences help young visitors understand how work and earning connect to everyday life.
The facility maintains strict safety rules, and children over six must enter work stations independently while parents watch from behind glass barriers. Visitors can navigate the park on their own, and it helps to arrive early or check timing to avoid long waits at popular stations.
The park is located inside Pacific Place Mall, a shopping center, so visitors can combine shopping and entertainment in one visit. This setup makes it convenient for families who want to spend a full day in the shopping complex.
