Stasiun Jatinegara, Railway station in East Jakarta, Indonesia

Stasiun Jatinegara is a railway station in East Jakarta, Indonesia, with three island platforms and one side platform serving a total of seven tracks. It handles both commuter lines within the city and long-distance trains running across Java.

The station opened on October 15, 1909, under the name Meester Cornelis during Dutch colonial rule. The architect S. Snuyf designed it while working for the colonial public works department.

The station building mixes colonial-era Indian architecture with what is called the New Indies style, designed to suit Jakarta's humid climate. Tall windows, wide doors, and glass skylights let in natural light and air throughout the interior.

The station has escalators, elevators, prayer rooms, and a food area, so waiting time is comfortable. Several TransJakarta bus corridors stop nearby, making it easy to continue to other parts of the city.

When a train arrives or departs, the traditional Betawi song 'Kicir-Kicir' plays as an audio signal. This was the first railway station to use a musical announcement system of this kind.
