Trans Studio Makassar, Indoor amusement park in Makassar, Indonesia
Trans Studio Makassar is an indoor amusement park in the city of Makassar on the Indonesian island of Sulawesi, housed within a structure covering around 20,000 square meters (215,278 square feet). The facility contains 22 rides and attractions distributed across four themed areas.
The facility opened in September 2009 through a partnership between Para Group and Kalla Group, marking the first large indoor entertainment complex of its kind in Indonesia. The layout and design were developed by Goddard Group, which had previously worked on several Universal Studios projects.
The name combines the Trans brand with a reference to Makassar, reflecting a connection between global entertainment and local identity. Visitors encounter rides and shows that mix Indonesian motifs with modern theme park elements.
The park is air-conditioned and offers protection from the region's tropical weather, making a visit possible at any time of day. Several restaurants and food stands are distributed throughout the themed areas, offering Indonesian and international dishes.
The four themed areas are called Central Studio, Lost City, Magic Corner, and Tsunami Island, each offering different atmospheres and rides. The haunted house features Indonesian ghost characters such as Kuntilanak and Jelangkung, drawn from local folklore.
