Burnett House, Colonial residence in Larrakeyah, Australia

The two-story Burnett House features metal roofing, timber frame walls, fibro sheeting cladding, and large window walls that enable natural light distribution throughout.

Built in 1938 by architect Beni Burnett, this residence survived World War II bombing raids, with bullet holes still visible in the front fence.

The National Trust headquarters presents the architectural legacy of tropical colonial designs adapted from Malaysian and Singaporean construction methods.

Visitors can explore the house Monday through Saturday from 10 AM to 1 PM, with guided tours priced at 12 dollars for adults.

The ground floor contains a colored compass inlay embedded in the concrete slab, while three-quarter height room partitions enhance air circulation.
