Darwin Aviation Museum

The Darwin Aviation Museum holds 19 aircraft, 21 engines, and 38 major displays illustrating the Northern Territory's aviation development throughout the decades.

The museum preserves artifacts from February 19, 1942, when 188 Japanese aircraft conducted air raids on Darwin, dropping more explosives than at Pearl Harbor.

The collection includes a Japanese aircraft that crash-landed on Melville Island, where local Aboriginal people captured the pilot during World War II.

The facility operates daily from 9 AM to 5 PM with adult tickets at $16, student tickets at $12, and children under five entering without charge.

The museum displays one of three Boeing B-52G Stratofortress bombers located outside the United States, obtained through a permanent loan agreement.
