Territory Wildlife Park, Conservation zoo in Berry Springs, Australia
Territory Wildlife Park is a zoo spread across 400 hectares of natural bushland, home to native animals and plants living in three different habitats: woodland, wetland, and monsoon forest. The layout lets you walk through all areas on foot to observe the animals throughout.
The park opened in 1989 as a center for research and public learning about local wildlife. Over time it has grown into an important place for conservation work and nature education in the region.
Daily shows let you watch trained birds in flight, walk alongside wallabies, and hear rangers explain the local wildlife. These activities help visitors understand why this region's nature matters.
The park sits about 45 minutes south of Darwin and is easy to reach by car. Opening hours shift by season: October through March it closes at 3pm, while April through September it stays open until 4pm, both opening at 9am.
The facility features specialized exhibits like a nocturnal house with dark rooms for watching night-active animals and walk-through bird aviaries. A standout is the large aquarium holding a real saltwater crocodile measuring about 3.8 meters long.
