Taka Bone Rate National Park, Marine park in South Sulawesi, Indonesia.
The national park extends across 530,765 hectares, containing extensive coral reefs, sea grass beds, and mangrove forests within the Flores Sea region.
The Indonesian government established Taka Bone Rate National Park in 1992, designating it as a protected marine area for conservation purposes.
Local Bonerate communities maintain traditional fishing practices while incorporating their Islamic beliefs with regional customs passed through generations.
Visitors can reach the park via rental boats from Benteng on Selayar Island, with optimal travel periods between March to May and September to December.
The park contains 242 coral species and 526 reef fish species across 21 islands, making it the largest coral atoll formation in Southeast Asia.
