Yarra Yarra Golf Club, Private golf club in Bentleigh East, Victoria, Australia
Yarra Yarra Golf Club is a private golf facility in Bentleigh East with eighteen holes featuring large, fast greens where strategically placed bunkers blend into the natural landscape. The course uses the rolling terrain of the Melbourne Sandbelt region to create varied playing conditions throughout the round.
The club was founded in 1898 with nine holes and expanded to eighteen in 1900 to better accommodate growing membership. In 1926, Alex Russell redesigned the course working alongside Dr. Alister MacKenzie.
The club functions as a gathering place where members meet regularly to play and connect with others who share their passion for golf. It maintains local golfing traditions and creates a community centered around the sport.
The club operates a pro shop staffed with qualified golf professionals who can offer instruction and equipment advice. The facility welcomes private functions, corporate gatherings, and special events alongside its regular member play.
The eleventh hole stands out as a challenging par 3 where the green features a narrow Redan style design split into three distinct tiers. This unusual shaping demands careful shot placement and makes the hole memorable for players navigating its contours.
