St David's Park, Heritage listed park in Hobart, Tasmania
The park extends across 2.3 hectares and contains Victorian gardens with stone walls, wrought iron gates, and landscaped lawns at the corner of Davey Street.
Established in 1804 as the first burial ground of Tasmania, the site was transformed into a public park in 1926 after serving as a cemetery.
The memorial walls display original headstones from the colonial period, including the grave markers of Lieutenant Governor David Collins and Sir Eardley Wilmot.
The central location near Salamanca Place provides direct access to multiple walking paths, with entrance points on both Davey Street and Sandy Bay Road.
Two stone lions guard the entrance gates, relocated from the Bank of Van Diemen's Land building in 1988 as part of Hobart's bicentennial celebrations.
