Derwent Entertainment Centre, Indoor sports arena in Glenorchy, Australia

The Derwent Entertainment Centre is an indoor sports venue in Glenorchy with seating arranged on three sides of the court. The facility features retractable lower sections and a movable grandstand to adjust capacity as needed.

Planned in the early 1980s as a larger home for the Hobart Devils, the arena was built on reclaimed land from the Bowen Bridge works and funded by the Tasmanian Government, Glenorchy City Council and a Bicentennial grant. It opened on 28 April 1989 with a Rick Astley concert. After the Devils lost their NBL licence in 1996, Glenorchy took full ownership in 1997–98; the state bought it in 2020 and redeveloped it for the Tasmania JackJumpers.

The arena's function room is named the Astley Room after Rick Astley, who played the opening concert on 28 April 1989. Sports commentators called it the "Devils' Den" during Hobart Devils home games, and the club set a record there on 11 September 1993 by beating the Townsville Suns 145–112.

The arena sits on reclaimed land in Glenorchy beside the Bowen Bridge approach, with a capacity of 4,875 fully seated or 6,925 general admission. Since the 2021 redevelopment it has sold 91% of tickets across all events, and sporting events have sold out entirely. Check the event listing before travelling, as the venue only opens for scheduled events.

The function area is named the Astley Room after Rick Astley, who opened the arena on 28 April 1989. In 1992 it emerged that a prisoner had been escorted to a Bob Dylan concert there by his warder and a male nurse as part of psychiatric treatment.
