Scenic World

Scenic World is a tourism complex in Katoomba in the Blue Mountains that connects four separate attractions. A steep railway carries visitors down into a forested valley, while a cableway, elevated sliding track, and forest walkway provide different perspectives of the landscape.

The original railway track was built in 1878 to transport coal from local mines. It was later converted to serve tourists and eventually expanded into a multi-part recreation complex.

The name reflects the Gundungurra and Darug peoples' deep connection to this valley and its resources. Visitors can discover information about their traditions and relationship with the land at different points throughout the site.

The park sits on the edge of Katoomba and is accessible by several transport options. Wear comfortable shoes because you will walk between different attractions and climb stairs at various points.

The Scenic Skyway features a glass floor that changes from opaque to transparent as you travel along it. This creates an unexpected moment of exposure for visitors suspended high above Jamison Valley.
