Fort Banks

Fort Banks is a military installation in La Perouse featuring underground tunnels, gun positions, and observation areas built into the rocky headland. The complex spreads across several levels and lookout points that overlook Sydney Harbor.

The site was planned in 1871 as part of Sydney's coastal defense strategy and became operational in 1883. It evolved during the World Wars into a key defensive position against potential attacks from the sea.
