Government House exhibits Gothic revival architecture with castellated towers, turrets, and detailed interiors set within five hectares of landscaped gardens.
Edward Blore designed this sandstone building in 1836, which opened in 1845 as the residence for Governor Sir George Gipps of New South Wales.
The interior contains a collection of portraits, period furniture, decorative arts, and gubernatorial memorabilia representing New South Wales political heritage.
Visitors can join guided tours every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday between 10:30 AM and 3:00 PM, with tours departing every thirty minutes.
The building served as residence for both state governors and the first five Governors-General of Australia between 1901 and 1914.
