Greenland Centre Sydney

Greenland Centre Sydney is a residential tower in central Sydney reaching 237 meters with a geometric Art Deco facade characterized by bold lines and distinct details. It spans 67 floors containing 470 apartments and six penthouses, supported by two basement levels with modern elevator systems.

Development began in 2017 on the former Sydney Water Board tower site, transforming the location into a major residential complex. The project reached completion in 2021 and became Sydney's tallest residential building.

The building skips the number four in its floor numbering system, reflecting respect for Chinese cultural beliefs among residents and investors. This design choice shows how contemporary towers adapt to diverse perspectives in a multicultural city.

The tower is accessible from main streets in the central business district with public transport connections nearby. Visitors should note that only public areas are open to enter, as residential floors are restricted to occupants and authorized guests.

A striking feature is the integration of the heritage Metropolitan Water building, which was preserved as a five-star hotel within the modern tower. This blend connects the site's historical Art Deco architecture with contemporary residential spaces while maintaining its older legacy.
