Sydney Water Head Office, Art Deco office building in Sydney Central Business District, Australia.

The Sydney Water Head Office is a ten-story office building in the Art Deco style located in Sydney's central business district. Its design features geometric shapes, sleek lines, and surfaces of colored granite combined with marble finishes.

The building opened in 1939 as the headquarters of the Metropolitan Water, Sewerage and Drainage Board. Over seven decades later, it was transformed into a hotel in 2009.

The entrance features sculptural relief panels by Stanley Hammond that depict the relationship between water management and civic responsibility. These artworks reflect how the building once represented a vital public service.

The building sits directly above Town Hall railway station, making it convenient to reach. The original interiors from the 1930s, including marble, travertine, and terrazzo surfaces, have been well maintained.

The building retains its original character despite transforming from a water utility office to a hotel. This demonstrates how heritage structures in Sydney can serve new purposes while honoring their historical roots.
