Genesian Theatre, Amateur theatre company in Sydney Central Business District, Australia
The Genesian Theatre operates from a converted church building at 420 Kent Street, presenting regular theatrical performances throughout the year.
Founded in 1944 by members of the Catholic Youth Organisation, the theatre group acquired its permanent home in the former St John The Evangelist Church in 1954.
The theatre company produces six main stage productions annually, ranging from classical works to contemporary plays and detective stories.
Tickets for performances can be purchased through the official website or at the box office, which opens one hour before each show.
The theatre takes its name from Saint Genesius, the patron saint of actors, and has launched careers of performers including Bryan Brown and Baz Luhrmann.
