MLC Building, Sydney, Office building with heritage status in Central Business District, Sydney, Australia.

The MLC Building is a 14-story office structure in the Sydney central business district featuring a glass curtain wall facade and modular floor layouts. Its rectangular form showcases the modernist approach of mid-20th century commercial architecture with clean lines and functional organization.

The building opened in 1957 as Sydney's first high-rise office structure, marking the beginning of a new era of tall commercial buildings in the region. It was considered the largest building of its type in Australia when it was completed.

The building earned recognition on the New South Wales State Heritage Register in 2021, following campaigns by conservation groups and architectural experts.

The building is located in the central business district and remains an active office workplace, so visitor access may be limited to exterior viewing. Its prominent position near major streets makes it easy to locate and photograph from public areas.

Independent assessments indicate that specific sections of the building can undergo renovation while preserving its architectural heritage elements.
