Warringah Civic Centre

The Warringah Civic Centre is a brutalist administrative building in Dee Why designed by architect Colin Madigan, featuring raw concrete surfaces and geometric forms. The structure is part of a larger complex that includes supplementary facilities arranged around open courtyards and public areas.

The building opened in 1973 and replaced an earlier civic building that had served the municipality since 1923 in a different location. This transition reflected the area's growth and the shift toward contemporary administrative architecture.

The center serves as an administrative and civic gathering place for Sydney's Northern Beaches communities. It demonstrates how raw architectural design creates functional spaces where residents conduct public business and community meetings.
