Narrabeen Beach

Narrabeen Beach is a three kilometer coastal stretch with golden sand and consistent waves suitable for various water activities. The shoreline is framed by parking areas, changing facilities, showers, barbecue spots, and a playground in the central section.

The area received its first land grants in the 19th century, with major development following the construction of a lagoon bridge in 1880. This infrastructure opened the beach to regular visitation and enabled the growth of resident communities.

The four surf lifesaving clubs shape daily beach life through their regular patrols and training sessions. They are deeply woven into the local community and give visitors a sense of organized water sports traditions.

The beach is easily accessible with multiple parking areas and offers basic amenities like changing facilities and showers throughout. Visitors should head to the central areas to access barbecue spots and the playground.

Archaeological excavations in 2005 near Ocean Street uncovered human remains dating back around 4,000 years. These discoveries, known as Narrabeen Man, reveal that the area has been inhabited since ancient times.
