Mount Nothofagus National Park

Mount Nothofagus National Park spans 2,180 hectares of protected land with an average elevation of 746 meters above sea level.

The national park, established in January 1999, became part of the Australian National Heritage List in 2007 for its ecological importance.

The park belongs to the Gondwana Rainforests of Australia World Heritage Site and forms part of the Scenic Rim Important Bird Area.

Visitors can access the park through Kyogle via the Bruxner Highway and Summerland Way, with the Kyogle office providing information at 02 6632 0000.

In 2019, a severe drought led to bushfires that affected three quarters of the park, including typically fire-resistant rainforest gullies.
