Regatta Hotel

Regatta Hotel is a four-story riverside building with decorative iron verandahs that has served as a gathering point on the Brisbane River. The structure features multiple dining areas including The Boatshed and The Main Bar, plus an underground bar space, making it a versatile public venue.

The building was designed by Richard Gailey in 1874 in Victorian style and represents the continuity of riverside commerce and social use. Over its existence it experienced several floods and fires, yet maintained its characteristic architectural identity.

The pub played an important role in social movements and remains a place where Brisbane residents gather and spend time together across generations.

The building is easily reached by river from the Brisbane River using the CityCat ferry terminal, which offers a practical arrival option. The different bar areas and dining spaces are spread across various levels, so it helps to allow time to explore the facilities.

Following the 2011 flood, the hotel underwent complete restoration while preserving its original Victorian features and details. The work revealed how carefully the historical elements of the building had been protected over time.
