Moorlands

The house was built in 1892 for the Mayne family, replacing an earlier timber structure on the site. A time capsule sealed beneath the foundation stone marks this construction period and preserves information about that era.

The residence served different communities over time, shifting from a wealthy household to military use, then supporting those affected by war. This pattern shows how private architecture adapted to serve changing public needs throughout Queensland's development.
