Middenbury House stands as a single-story brick villa with verandahs on three sides, positioned on elevated ground near the Brisbane River.
The residence, completed in December 1866 for Eliza Mary Rogers, represents the early development of suburban villa estates during Brisbane's expansion period.
The property served as a venue for high society gatherings, including a notable visit from the Prince of Wales in 1920.
The structure features high-quality cedar joinery throughout its interior and maintains its original rectangular floor plan with spacious reception rooms.
The building hosted the first official ABC television broadcast in Queensland during November 1959, with more than 300 people attending.
