Toowong

Toowong is a residential suburb between Mount Coot-tha and the Brisbane River, spread across rolling hills with traditional homes and modern developments. The area blends single-family houses with newer construction projects in a largely quiet, green setting.

The area developed from farmland into an affluent residential district after the Ipswich railway line was built in 1875. This rail connection became the turning point that enabled settlement and the neighborhood's rise.
