Aspley, Administrative suburb in northern Brisbane, Australia
Aspley is a residential suburb in northern Brisbane with mostly flat terrain and some hills scattered nearby. The area sits south of Cabbage Tree Creek and contains schools, parks, and residential neighborhoods that serve local families.
The area was originally home to the Turrbal people, particularly the Duke of York clan, who established seasonal camps throughout the region. European settlement later transformed the landscape and its use significantly.
In 2021, Aspley counted 12,871 residents who participate in regular community events at local parks and recreational facilities throughout the year.
The suburb is easily accessible by public transport and offers good infrastructure for schools, shopping, and recreation. Visitors should note this is a residential area best explored on foot or by car through its various neighborhoods.
The name comes from an orangery and vineyard established in the 1860s by John Morris from Nottinghamshire. This historical fruit plantation gave its name to the residential area that developed there later.
