Corpus Christi Church

The Corpus Christi Church features a copper-sheeted dome rising 100 feet above ground level, with polychrome brickwork and a traditional Latin Cross plan.

The foundation stone was laid in June 1925 during a ceremony that drew 20,000 people, who contributed £2,000 toward the construction of this Catholic landmark.

The church stands on land formerly occupied by a Moravian mission established for Aboriginal communities in 1838, marking early religious presence in the area.

Located at 65 Bage Street in Nundah, Brisbane, the church maintains its original architectural features and continues regular services for the local parish.

The structure parallels the design of the Holy Name Cathedral project, suggesting it may have served as a scale model for that unrealized construction.
