Musket Villa, Heritage-listed residence in Ascot, Australia.

Musket Villa is a single-story stucco residence with multiple gabled roofs and terracotta tiles located at 251 Lancaster Road in Ascot, Queensland. The property includes converted stables now functioning as residential flats and a bed and breakfast operation called Lancaster Gables.

The building was constructed in 1923 by architects Hall and Prentice as a residence and training establishment for horse trainer William Booth, who lived there until his death in 1927. Its name comes from Musket, a horse trained by Booth that won a major race at the Queensland Turf Club in 1899.

The interior showcases fine craftsmanship through timber paneling, leadlight doors, and ebonised timber detailing from 1920s residential design. These details reflect how wealthy households of that era decorated their homes and valued attention to quality materials and skilled work.

The property sits across from Eagle Farm Racecourse, making it easy to locate from the main road. Since it operates as a bed and breakfast, visitors should contact ahead to arrange any visits or accommodations.

The property takes its name from Musket, a racehorse that won a major victory in 1899 and became closely tied to the place's identity. This connection to horse racing history shows how deeply the building is rooted in Queensland's sporting heritage.
