St John the Baptist Anglican Church, Bulimba, Heritage-listed Anglican church in Bulimba, Australia.

St John the Baptist Anglican Church is a timber building on Oxford Street featuring a corrugated iron roof, lancet windows with colored glass, and a distinctive entrance porch supported by low brick piers. An adjacent parish hall built in 1965 was later enlarged to host community meetings and events.

The church was constructed in 1888 by architect John Hingeston Buckeridge during a period of expansion in Queensland when Bishop Thomas Webber commissioned new religious buildings across the region. The timber structure was built as part of a broader effort to establish Anglican communities in developing neighborhoods.

The church serves as a gathering space where the Anglican community comes together for worship and neighborhood celebrations. Its timber structure and colored windows have become a familiar landmark that residents associate with local life.

The site is straightforward to navigate and provides visitors with clear views of its timber construction and architectural details from the exterior. The grounds include both the church and the adjoining parish hall, so it's useful to allow time to observe both structures and how they relate to the street.

The church interior features wood paneling salvaged from the captain's cabin of the Maheno, a ship that wrecked near Fraser Island in 1935, along with the vessel's bell. This unusual feature links maritime heritage to the sacred space in an unexpected way.
