Sea Life Sunshine Coast

Sea Life Sunshine Coast is a marine park spanning three levels with eleven distinct animal zones, including an 80-meter underwater tunnel where sharks, rays, and tropical fish swim overhead. The facility features specialized viewing areas and comprehensive interactive exhibits focused on ocean life.

The facility opened in 1989 as UnderWater World and was rebranded as Sea Life Centre following major renovations in 2013. This transformation updated the infrastructure and expanded animal care capabilities.

The marine park functions as a rehabilitation center for injured sea creatures and supports wildlife conservation through hands-on learning experiences. Visitors connect with environmental work and develop awareness of ocean ecosystems through daily observations.

The center opens daily in the morning and stays open into the afternoon, with extended hours during Queensland school holidays. Plan to spend several hours exploring all zones, arriving early on busy days for better viewing opportunities.

Seal Island pool houses six seals including Australian sea lions and long-nosed fur seals that visitors observe through specialized glass viewing areas. These animals were often rescued after injuries and now represent successful rehabilitation stories.
