Cook's Landing Place, Town of Seventeen Seventy

Cook's Landing Place features granite formations rising 54 meters above sea level, with Round Hill Creek flowing through natural coastal vegetation.

Lieutenant James Cook and his crew aboard HMS Endeavour made their first Queensland landing at this location on May 24, 1770.

The site contains monuments and markers that document the initial contact between European explorers and Aboriginal inhabitants of the Australian east coast.
