Charters Towers Masonic Lodge

Charters Towers Masonic Lodge is a two-story building at 20 Ryan Street featuring rendered brick walls, timber verandahs, and a corrugated iron roof with decorative railings. The structure has continuously housed five active Masonic lodges since its completion.

The structure was built between 1887 and 1897, expanding from a single-story hall into a complete two-story building during Charters Towers' period of economic growth. This expansion reflected the town's prosperity and the community's growing investment in Masonic activities.

Inside, specific areas contain thrones and podiums arranged for traditional Masonic practices and ceremonies. These rooms continue to serve active lodges that gather here regularly for their meetings and rituals.
