The Cathedral Church of St Barnabas is an Anglican church building in Honiara featuring a steel frame structure, aluminum roof, and concrete floor. The building measures approximately 160 by 73 meters and accommodates around 900 people.
Construction of this cathedral began in 1961 under the initiative of Bishop Alfred Hill and was completed with its consecration in 1969. The opening ceremony drew more than 2000 people.
The cathedral displays traditional Melanesian design elements throughout its interior spaces and serves as the main Anglican worship place in the Solomon Islands. Visitors can see these cultural influences reflected in the decorations and how the space is arranged.

The cathedral preserves personal objects belonging to John Patteson, including his burial mat, baton, and chalice. Patteson was the first Bishop of Melanesia and died in 1871.
