Mount Eva, Mountain peak in Kenai Peninsula, Alaska
Mount Eva is a mountain peak in the Kenai Mountains on the Kenai Peninsula. It rises prominently above the surrounding terrain and overlooks Resurrection Bay.
The mountain was officially named by the United States Board on Geographic Names in 2001 after Eva Lowell, an early settler of Seward. The naming honored her connection to the local history of the region.
The mountain stands within the traditional territories of Native Alaskan communities who maintained connections to these lands for generations.
Climbing requires thorough preparation because conditions are demanding throughout the year. Winter months bring extreme cold and rapidly changing weather, making careful planning essential.
The peak hosts Bear Lake Glacier on its northern and eastern sides, while an unnamed glacier covers the western slope. These ice formations shape the mountain's appearance.
