Zamperini Field is an airport in Torrance, California, serving mainly private planes and helicopters. The facility spans over 500 acres with two parallel asphalt runways, hangars, a small terminal building with basic amenities, and exhibition areas for historic aircraft.
The airfield was built during World War II by the United States Army Air Forces as a landing site for military aircraft. After the war it was transferred to the city of Torrance and renamed in 1946 after Louis Zamperini, a local war veteran and athlete.
