The Main Building of Torrance High School is a two-story Mediterranean Revival structure from 1917, with Classical Revival and Spanish Colonial Revival elements. A central two-story section is flanked by one-story wings framing an outdoor courtyard patio. Its main entrance layers a pediment with cornice, a coffered arch, a pedimented flat window, an arched fanlight and a flat doorway portal flanked by paired columns.

The Main Building opened in 1917 as Torrance School, housing elementary and high school students in the campus's first building. It became Torrance High School in 1923 when a separate elementary school opened. A rear addition followed in 1922 in the same style, and the building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

The building's layered entrance combines a pediment with cornice, a coffered arch, an arched fanlight and a doorway flanked by paired columns, mixing Classical Revival and Spanish Colonial Revival elements with the Mediterranean Revival design. The 1922 rear addition repeated the same style, and the former elementary school building, renamed the Annex, joined the high school campus in 1963.

The Main Building faces the campus courtyard patio framed by its two-story centre and one-story wings, so the layered main entrance with its pediment, coffered arch and paired columns is best seen from that side. It stands on the Torrance High School campus in Torrance, southwestern Los Angeles County, and is one of four NRHP-listed buildings there, alongside the 1938 Auditorium-Assembly Hall, the 1923 Home Economics Building and the Annex.
