Toyota USA Automobile Museum, Automotive museum in Torrance, United States.
The Toyota USA Automobile Museum is a company-run museum located on the grounds of Toyota's American headquarters in Torrance, California, displaying cars from the Toyota, Lexus, and Scion lines. The vehicles are arranged across several halls in roughly chronological order, covering decades of model history.
The collection opens with the 1958 Toyota Crown, the first model sold in the United States, followed by the 1965 Corona, which became the first high-volume seller for the brand in America. Together, these early cars trace the beginning of a long commercial presence in the US market.
Some of the cars on display appeared in films and television shows, giving visitors a sense of how Toyota became part of everyday American life. Walking through the halls, you can spot models that many Americans would recognize from the road or the screen.
The museum is located on a corporate campus and requires advance reservations, as the number of visitors allowed at one time is limited. Booking early is a good idea, especially for groups, since entry is free but spaces fill up.
Several cars on display carry serial number one, meaning they were the very first units to roll off the line at different Toyota plants across North America. These vehicles were never meant for sale and exist nowhere else in this form.
