Gold Star Studios, Recording studio in Hollywood, California, US.

Gold Star Studios was a recording facility in Hollywood located on Santa Monica Boulevard with specially designed chambers for creating echo effects. The building contained custom recording equipment that allowed engineers to experiment with new acoustic techniques.

David S. Gold and Stan Ross founded the facility in 1950 and helped establish Los Angeles as a major recording center. The studio remained active until 1984, operating for more than three decades.

The studio drew musicians from many genres and became a meeting place where artists came to experiment with new sounds and production ideas. Producers and performers mingled here while exploring techniques that would reshape popular music.

The studio space lacked modern air conditioning, so recording sessions took place in warm conditions. Musicians and engineers had to work in tight quarters, which sometimes required creative problem-solving during sessions.

The studio pioneered advanced recording methods like phasing and flanging that became standard tools across the music industry. These techniques emerged from creative experimentation by engineers working within the facility's acoustic environment.
