Founded in 1980, the museum preserves Southern California's railroad heritage through detailed scale models of historical routes, including the San Diego and Arizona Eastern Railway.
Multiple model railroad clubs contribute their engineering expertise to maintain and expand the exhibits, teaching visitors about transportation development in the American West.
The museum welcomes visitors from Tuesday through Sunday between 11:00 AM and 4:00 PM, with extended hours until 5:00 PM during weekends.
Each miniature display incorporates exact geographical features and architectural details, requiring thousands of hours of volunteer work to construct and maintain the layouts.
