Santee Boulders is a climbing site in San Diego County with about 30 granite formations reaching heights up to 40 feet. The area offers more than 200 marked climbing problems suitable for different skill levels.
The area became accessible through efforts by the Access Fund organization, which negotiated with private property owners. This created legal climbing rights for the community at this location.
Local climbing groups regularly organize cleaning events to remove graffiti from the rocks, demonstrating the climbing community's commitment to site preservation.
The site is easily reached from Highway 52 via Mast Boulevard. Parking is available at West Hills Park directly across from the climbing area.
The Dog Pile section contains Kung Pao, a challenging climbing route rated 5.12d. This particular route ascends the overhanging south face of the rock formation.
