Pomona Fox Theater, Art Deco movie theater in Pomona, US
The Fox Theater features an 81-foot corner tower with a neon sign, Art Deco architectural elements, and ornamental ironwork throughout the building.
Opening its doors in April 1931, the theater operated for five decades as a first-run cinema before closing in 1977 due to multiplex competition.
The venue hosted radio broadcasts with performers including Bob Hope, Lucille Ball, Desi Arnaz, Shirley Temple, and Lawrence Welk during its early years.
Located at 114 West 3rd Street in Pomona, the restored theater now functions as a 2,000-seat entertainment venue for concerts and special events.
The theater contained one of the first commercial air conditioning systems in the United States, making it a technological advancement for its time.
