The RailGiants Train Museum displays full-size locomotives, model trains, and railway equipment spread across an outdoor space at the Fairplex grounds. The collection includes machines from different periods and sizes that visitors can see up close.

The Southern California Chapter of the Railway & Locomotive Historical Society owns and maintains the museum at the Fairplex. Its collection includes the 1887 Arcadia depot of the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway. Union Pacific Big Boy No. 4014 was displayed here until late 2013, when it left for restoration. The museum closed in March 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic and reopened in May 2022 after renovations.

The museum keeps the 1887 Arcadia depot of the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway, moved here and standing beside the locomotives. Volunteers, more than 80 of them, run the site and operate the Fairplex Garden Railway with G scale model trains, which gears up each year for the L.A. County Fair.

The exhibits are spread across an outdoor space, so check the weather and bring shade protection if needed. Comfortable shoes help since the grounds cover a good distance and invite walking around.

The Fairplex Garden Railway, run by over 80 volunteers, uses G scale model trains and operates the second Sunday of each month from November through July, 11:00am to 4:00pm. It gears up each year for the L.A. County Fair, its primary show, and in December members run Christmas trains.
