Agritopia is a residential neighborhood with integrated farming on approximately 67 acres in Arizona. The area combines homes, vegetable fields, shops, and dining spots in a mixed-use layout with different housing types.
The Johnston family converted their traditional farmland into this neighborhood in 2003. The transformation kept agricultural activities alive while building new residential areas alongside farming operations.
The place demonstrates how modern residents engage with food production through shared farming spaces. Community garden activities here connect neighbors with seasonal growing and local harvest practices throughout the year.
You can walk to most shops and restaurants on the property and find fresh produce easily throughout the day. The narrow streets and low fences make navigation pleasant and encourage you to interact with neighbors.
Around 450 households with different income levels live together in this intentionally designed neighborhood space. This economic diversity is uncommon in modern residential communities and creates a genuinely mixed environment.
